                Short Description
                The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed gaps in infection prevention and control (IPC) knowledge and practice in healthcare settings nationwide. The purpose of this grant is to provide infection prevention and control (IPC) training to frontline healthcare staff in the outpatient primary care clinics. The training will address the identified knowledge and training needs to help build a foundation of IPC knowledge and a culture of IPC expertise in the outpatient primary care setting

                Objective
                The purpose of this grant is to provide infection prevention and control (IPC) training to frontline healthcare staff in the outpatient primary care setting. The training will address the identified knowledge and training needs to help build a foundation of IPC knowledge and a culture of IPC expertise in the outpatient primary care setting. Project Firstline program will feature new training for staff in outpatient primary care clinics.

                Applicant Eligibility
                Grantee must have experience with implementing infection prevention and control programming in Illinois within the past five years; experience assessing and providing technical assistance in infection prevention and control in outpatient primary care settings across Illinois. The grantee must have expertise in implementing quality improvement initiatives and training related to infection prevention and control. Grantee must have extensive experience working with primary care outpatient facilities. Grantee must have established working relationships with outpatient primary care throughout Illinois.

                Unallowable project cost include: Research, Clinical care, Publicity and propaganda (lobbying): Other than for normal and recognized executive-legislative relationships, no funds may be used for: publicity or propaganda purposes, for the preparation, distribution, or use of any material designed to support or defeat the enactment of legislation before any legislative body the salary or expenses of any grant or contract recipient, or agent acting for such recipient, related to any activity designed to influence the enactment of legislation, appropriations, regulation, administrative action, or Executive order proposed or pending before any
             
            
                Reports
                The Grantee must work closely with IDPH’s Division of Patient Safety and Quality and the CDC, and participate in calls and meetings as scheduled. Monthly performance reports will be required to   summarize activities performed, findings and common themes from health needs assessment surveys, steps taken to address gaps, results of technical assistance, and priorities for next steps. Grantees will also submit quarterly expenditure and reimbursement reports
             
            
            
                Records
                Grantee shall maintain for three (3) years from the date of submission of the final expenditure report, adequate books, all financial records and, supporting documents, statistical records, and all other records pertinent to this Award, adequate to comply with 2 CFR 200.333, unless a different retention period is specified in 2 CFR 200.333 or 44 Ill. Admin. Code §§ 7000.430(a) and (b).
