Short Description
SORNA grant is a result of Illinois not being in compliance with federal sex offender laws. On an annual basis while not in compliance, Illinois is penalized 10 percent of the Byrne Grant funding allocated to Illinois. Illinois can request this 10 percent to be reallocated back to Illinois to assist with SORNA compliancy.
