Short Description
WCCYC has contracted with Illinois School District 88 to be a bus stop for District 88 children. Members will be dropped off and enter the WCCYC facilities with a check intahe Front Desk. Youth participants who have unfinished homework will report to the Education Assist room where a guidance counselor will assist the student participant with homework completion. Members with completed homework will participate in their Programs of choice. All Programs will have paid staff or volunteers that will supervise the members. During a regular school day, the members will arrive at about 2:30 pm and get picked up by their parents/guardians and the facility will remain open until 7:00 PM. WCCYC will also provide periodic evening activities like “Teen Night” for dancing and socializing for the members. WCCYC will provide a safe, happy, educational and nurturing atmosphere for all student participants. WCCYC will provide both indoor and outdoor facilities and two large gymnasium-like facilities, and several smaller program related rooms. The smaller rooms are for Programs like STEM related activities, Arts and Crafts, daily homework completion, Reading club, etc. WCCYC will also add programs for hygiene, nutrition, teambuilding, environmental awareness and action, and financial literacy.
