Preapplication Coordination
Completing the annual School Nutrition Programs application automatically enrolls participants in the Food Distribution Program; however, the participants must place an order to receive food. For the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), completing the annual SFSP application allows identification of eligible entities, who are then contacted to place an order to receive food. Allotments to state and individual school districts are based on lunch meal counts, multiplied by an annual effective rate.
