Short Description
NNA is reactivating the South Shore’s area councils by organizing like-minded neighbors into area-based groups that meet both virtually and physically. Second, the NNA convenes “delegates” from each area council to discuss eight key issues that limit public safety in their communities: housing, education, economic development, health and wellness, arts and culture, transportation, youth, and neighborly hospitality. Third, the NNA helps these area councils fund and coordinate programming that addresses these eight issues.

Objective
The Neighborhood Network Alliance (NNA) is currently piloting an alternate model of local organizing in South Shore that better addresses the public safety challenges facing the Southeast Side. This new plan has three key steps. First, the NNA is reactivating the South Shore’s area councils by organizing like-minded neighbors into area-based groups that meet both virtually and physically.
