Short Description
This program will improve postsecondary persistence for youth moms pursuing academic goals, while supporting improved outcomes for their young children, by increasing the rate and speed at which young moms complete postsecondary education. They will serve 25 young moms in Chicago, who are pursuing postsecondary Associate or 1 year CTE programs leading to academic credits. The project will pair strategies: coaching on a prescribed schedule , designed to decrease barriers and support goal progression; monthly stipends for verified attendance to help actively enrolled young moms to meet basic needs while pursuing postsecondary goals; and workshops designed to build skills and increase social capital.
