Short Description
An after-school program in 2 school districts. Provides support and assistance such as tutoring and homework help, academic enrichment, social and emotional learning, physical activity and structured quality programming. Also has a swim program designed to reduce children's risk of drowning by teaching essential water safety skills through swim lessons programs. They also provide a summer program aimed at reducing summer learning loss in math and literacy.

Objective
West Cook YWCA remains committed to closing the achievement gap and providing social-emotional learning (SEL) support for 140 school-age students (ages 5-14) in School District 89 (Melrose Park, Maywood, Broadview) and School District 90 (River Forest) to disrupt the effects of the prolonged distance learning caused by the pandemic through our year-round youth development program model that includes combining two nationally proven evidenced-based programs, After School Signature Program and Power Scholars Academy with the Swim Access Program that will serve an additional 200 youth. Total students anticipated serving is 340.
