Short Description
The Youth Build program of Lake County is currently in need to expand the number enrolled due to the demand. Youth Build will serve 24 youth ages 16-23 and 1 young adult age 24 (total 25 youth). Youth Build will serve under-served and low income. Recruitment efforts will focus on the lower income tracks in Lake County, with particular efforts towards females, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, persons with disabilities, and parenting youth.

Objective
The YouthBuild program is a six to eight-month education and career training opportunity offering academic skill enhancement, high school diploma attainment, leadership development and mentoring activities, green construction training, life skills, case management and counseling, service opportunities in the community, career exploration and job readiness training, post-secondary educational initiatives, job/college placement, and follow up services. YBLC is a National Affiliate of YouthBuild U.S.A. and an AmeriCorps program.
