Objective
The Venice Collaborative Workforce/Youth Services Program will deliver direct education, career, and supportive services to participants aged 18-24 who reside in Venice and surrounding communities. The 9-month program consists of two primary components: 1) Adult basic education, GED, and employability programming delivered onsite at Mt. Nebo in Madison. This location will provide structured programming four nights per week for 2.5 hours per night during the first three months of the program, and will continue to operate as a dedicated classroom, tutoring, and community space throughout the second phase of the project. 2) Industry-aligned education and credentials earned through Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). SWIC participants will complete a one-semester certificate of completion in a vocational education program, while SIUE participants will complete an industry-aligned credential to prepare them for a career as a Laboratory Technician.
