Short Description
The grant supports the Thornton Township being on the front lines to serve the most vulnerable individuals in 17 south suburban communities that make up its service area since its establishment. Thornton Township provides an array of services to help provide much-needed support and wrap-around services to residents. Services provided are rooted in evidence-based practice with comprehensive knowledge and experience. Thornton Township aids in the form of emergency rent and mortgage payments, feeding over 5,000 families in need monthly. Thornton Township is integral in supporting and stabilizing the south suburbs. This grant will support local employment opportunities for 39 high risk youth.

Objective
Thornton Township will commit to engaging 39 at-risk youth for the duration of the funding opportunity with local employment. Thornton Township offers local area ages 16-24 employment through a variety of programs. The programs are designed to help foster positive relationships between Thornton Township residents and youth while providing training and jobs in the township.
