Short Description
Focus on investment in IL and four to five other select states and metropolitan areas across the US, where teams led by tradeswomen's organizations will build equity plans, promote their adoption, and guide the implementation of programming to accelerate state and locate efforts to increase women's inclusion and equity in construction-trade jobs on BIL-funded projects.
Federal Authorization
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)- BIL funding is consistent with recent smaller scale state and local infrastructure investments designed to create pathways for women and people of color into building trades apprenticeships and public works construction careers.

Objective
Women's Bureau will fund the State of IL to collect data on, evaluate and report on their existing state and local-level workforce. In addition to bringing state and local-level infrastructure, labor, and workforce training agency to the table with pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs; contractors; and building trades unions-for the purpose of further understanding and evaluating what state and local programs and experimentation have been successful in attracting and keeping women and people of color in public infrastructure jobs.
UGA Program Terms
The State of IL will work specifically with Chicago Women in Trades (CWIT) to expand the parameters of their related work that was initiated last year.
