                Short Description
                IDoA intends to enter into an educational grant agreement with an external academic-based third-party with a proven track record and expertise in HCBS workforce training and education and curriculum development to create a comprehensive training curricula applicable across multiple waiver programs. This grant is intended to support and supplement the activities of the DCW technical assistance opportunity and serve as the initial step in developing a DCW certification and career path.

                Education Organizations; 
             
            
                Applicant Eligibility
                Must be an Illinois University or College that is currently or was previously designated as a federal Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Programs (GWEP) in Illinois; has significant experience in DCW workforce and curriculum development; has extensive experience in gerontological care and research; proven expertise in working with traditionally marginalized and underserved populations, including those from low-income communities and those with significant populations of non-English speaking older adults and DCWs; past or current work with the Aging Network in developing training materials for those employed by Network providers and/or caregivers; and past work with the Aging Network and Aging Network providers in the state of Illinois, particularly in the areas of best practices and quality improvements to existing system.
