Objective
Cancer incidence is epidemic in fire fighters, so its early detection is critical. Firefighters are in dire need of assistance from the research community to provide evidence of causation: the smoking gun of mechanistic evidence showing that their occupational exposures are linked to specific cancers. Collecting this evidence requires robust longitudinal biomonitoring studies with human subjects (i.e., firefighters) supported by powerful state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with high performance, accuracy, precision, and specificity devoted to firefighters.
