Objective
Objective of this grant is to assist with the cost of updating technology for the provider agency. This includes - but is not limited to - laptop computers, tablets, software, cellular phones, security devices and systems, and other technologies that can assist providers by increasing their efficiency while in the field serving clients.

Preapplication Coordination

Reimbursement based upon qualifying technology expenditures provided. Payments shall be made through electronic report submissions via the APS Smartsheets portal as directed by the Department.

Uses and Restrictions
By requesting or receiving funds under this award, the recipient assures that it will use all funding for qualifying technology purchases, upgrades, technology software, and security device/system additions to assist the APS staff as specified within the grant description. Technology purchases will benefit the Adult Protective Services program within their agency following the terms and conditions of this award. Grant funding must only be used for Adult Protective Services technology solutions and may not be used for other programs that an agency may operate. Large purchases, defined as one single item purchased at a cost to the grantee that exceeds $5,000, may not be included in this award.
Reports
Reporting payment requests for this technology agreement shall be made by submitting the required reporting through the APS Smartsheets portal monthly. These reports include the PPR and PFR reports.
Audits
Grantee shall be subject to the audit requirements contained in the Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996 (31 USC 7501-7507) and Subpart F of 2 CFR Part 200, and the audit rules and policies set forth by the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget. See 30 ILCS 708/65(c); 44 Ill. Admin. Code 7000.90.
Records
Adult Protective Services Provider Agencies shall maintain books and records relating to the performance of the contract and necessary to support amounts charged to the State pursuant the contract. Books and records, including information stored in databases or other computer systems, shall be maintained for the APSPA for a period of three (3) years from the later of the date of final payment under the contract or completion of the contract.

Program Accomplishments
This funding opportunity is aimed at modernizing technological solutions for frontline Adult Protective Services staff. It is intended to be used for the purchase or upgrade of laptops, cell phone, safety apps, and other technology-based solutions for the conduct of Adult Protective Services in an effort to promote efficiency of documentation (eg. Concurrent documentation during FTF visits), enhanced caseworker safety, and subsequent positive client outcomes.
