Short Description
Offer professional development activities for child care practitioners who serve children kindergarten age through 12 years of age as part of the federal quality enhancement initiative. These activities will include content of general school age interest and current best practice, comprehensive services for low-income families, program management, and collaboration topics. I. Professional Development Opportunities Provide professional development (PD) activities for school age practitioners / programs. These activities shall include, at a minimum: A. An annual school age conference. Contractor is responsible for all aspects of coordinating and implementing the conference B. A minimum of 10, 2-hour Regional Training sessions throughout the State. Contractor is responsible for all aspects of planning and implementing the regional training sessions. II. Shall conduct an annual training need survey to school age practitioners. III. Data Collection Will provide data and a summary of evaluations on each PD activity as follows: A. Conference – one month after the activity B. Regional Training – 15 days after each training event C. Data shall be recorded in the format provided by IDHS IV. Shall have written policies and procedures approved by the Board addressing the following: A. Training policies and procedures B. Fee policy for training activities C. If applicable, shall develop a written policy and procedure to address the use of video equipment of the purpose of professional development and best practices with staff and/or providers. The policy and procedure must address gaining prior written consent from anyone being recorded (parent/guardian consent for children under age of 18). Contractor must disclose to anyone being recorded how the video will and will not be used.
