Objective
To support Illinois businesses rebuilding after sustaining property damage to their business during civil unrest. Projects will help the community and businesses recover as quickly as possible.

Government Organizations; Nonprofit Organizations;
Applicant Eligibility
Eligible applicants include local governments; non-profit organizations; chambers of commerce; county, local, or regional economic development organizations; community development financial institutions; or organizations or associations that have demonstrated experience administering grants of this kind.

Preapplication Coordination
This is a competitive grant. Interested applicants should apply according to the instructions in the Notice of Funding Opportunity. Awards will be provided to eligible applicants that can demonstrate their eligibility through documentation through a merit based review. Finalists will be notified via a Notice of State Award.

The Department anticipates sending Notices of State Award by approximately July 31, 2020, but reserves the right to issue a reduced award, or not to issue any award.

Funds will be used for an eligible entity to administer grants to aid businesses that have sustained damage due to civil unrest during protests on or after May 25, 2020.
