Short Description
Maintain and update the Illinois Early Childhood Asset Map (IECAM), a web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) site and database to provide information about statewide early childhood services, including child care, integrated with demographic data including but not limited to: the characteristics of families with young children; geographic areas such as municipalities, school districts, counties and townships. Provide public access to a variety of aggregate data searches, reports and data maps. This site is to inform policymakers, stakeholders, contractors and others on Illinois early childhood resource allocation, gaps in services and inform future planning at the state and local levels. I. Using the IECAM computer data system, add, maintain and update child care program data (for ages birth through 12 years of age) with demographic and geographic data at least annually A. Child care program data will be electronically accessible in various formats integrated with other data including: aggregate number reports and maps by municipality, county, school district and other geographic areas; and in comparison with family data including family income (ongoing) B. Integrate IDHS Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) aggregate data into IECAM as another source of information about families and child care programs at least annually C. Complete and maintain any standard child care reports as approved by IDHS and review annually D. Provide ongoing maintenance and updating of the IECAM web site and system (eg. Data, instructions for users, server support, equipment, geocoding software, maps, functionality improvements) II. Provide technical assistance and conduct outreach activities for users and potential users of the IECAM web site A. Provide technical assistance to users of the IECAM (ongoing basis) 1. Provide phone assistance to users including accessing data and maps, developing and printing reports, configuring data 2. Provide email assistance including answers to questions and links to instructions on the site B. Prepare and deliver training seminars for Child Care Resource and Referral staff, policy makers, provider groups, etc. as needed and requested (ongoing) C. Prepare and deliver workshop presentations at meetings and conferences related to early care and education throughout the State as requested
