PROGRAM INFORMATION
Short Description
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 PELL55 funds are eligible to be utilized to support qualifying insitutions provide supports which are rooted in closing equity gaps in student success measures in the areas of enrollment, retention, or graduation rates.

Objective
Grant funds should be utilized in categories for academic student support, student financial support, or basic needs support. Funds may be utilized for payments towards student accounts, so long as there is no reducation in any other scholarship or aid award for students.
Institutions shoudl provide an outline of program intentions and measures of students directly impacted, enrollment outcomes of students receiving direct payments, and other measures of program success.
Examples of supports are listed below:
Academic Support:
- Support enrollment, retention, and re-engagement initiatives that ensure academic progression;
- Enhance the accessibility of academic advising and counseling resources;
- Supplemental academic supplies for student use
- Supplemental instructional services
Fiscal Support:
Payments made on individual student accounts with outstanding balances which prohibited registration;
Payments made to student accounts to support supplemental course fees or supplies (e.g. textbooks, course access codes, supplemental course software)
Basic Needs Supports that provide:
Access to nutritious and sufficient food;
Safe, secure, and adequate housing to sleep, study, cook, and shower;
Healthcare to promote sustained mental and physical well-being;
Enhancement to the behavioral health resources and other supports;
Technology items needed to enhance student experience;
Transportation support;
Resources for personal hygiene care;
Child-care and related needs or expenses
UGA Program Terms
The Grantee will provide a FY2027 Implementation Plan and Budget projecting the uses of funds. If applicable, the implementation plan must include details on your institution's proposed standard policies and procedures for determine student eligibility for any proposed programs that provide direct student aid and outline any criteria that would make a student ineligible for aid. The Grantee must guarantee that any direct student aid proposed in the grant will not negatively impact a student's financial aid and ensure that PELL55 funds do not lower the amount of other financial aid for which the student may already be eligible. Student shall not be required to utilize loans in order to be eligible or receive PELL55 funds.
