Formula Matching Requirements
The Foundation's submitted information must show that a State has a 25% match.
Uses and Restrictions
To assist agencies in forest stewardship programs on private, State, local, and other nonfederal forest and rural lands. Establishe an acceptable integrated pest management strategy that will prevent, retard, control, or suppress gypsy moth in an amount no less than 50 percent nor greater than 75 percent of the cost of implementing such strategy. Since Congress funded the Slow the Spread Program (STS) in the year 2000, eleven states located along the leading edge of gypsy moth populations, in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service, have implemented a region-wide strategy to minimize the rate at which gypsy moth spreads into non-infested areas.
Reports
Progress and financial reports are required on a semi-annual basis. An audit of the Foundation's expenditures occurs annually.
