Short Description
the Illinois Department of Natural Resources proposes to expand on an exploratory collaboration with the US Climate Alliance and the UIUC Land-use Evolution and impact Assessment Modeling (LEAM) Lab. The purpose of this collaboration is to inform a data-driven process using a state-wide, spatial, integrated, ecosystem service assessment model to help formulate a Plan for responding to the twin crises.

Objective
Address two highly interrelated global environmental crises: climate change and biodiversity/ecosystem services loss crisis . In response, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources proposes to expand on an exploratory collaboration with the US Climate Alliance and the UIUC Land-use Evolution and impact Assessment Modeling (LEAM) Lab. To create a data-driven process using a state-wide, spatial, integrated, ecosystem service assessment model to help formulate a Plan for responding to the twin crises. At the core of this process is quantitative modeling environment and Planning Support System (PSS) to test and inform the short- and long-term implications of a range of scenario planning strategies in the development and implementation of an Illinois Natural and working lands plan and planning process.
