Short Description
Grants that are awarded to local workforce areas and other qualified organizations to provide the required and/or allowable statewide workforce activities as outlined in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Funds are provided by the United States Department of Labor authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (Public Law 113-128).

Objective
Statewide activities grants support projects that address the priorities identified in the State of Illinois Unified Workforce Plan including pilots that integrate workforce, education and economic development services; that break down barriers to accessing job-driven training resulting in employment opportunities; and, that assist in the effective and efficient implementation of WIOA regulations within Illinois’ economic development regions.
